I am a high school junior doing the IB diploma in Singapore. I can not afford to pay for summer schools in the U.S which award college credit. So I would like to if these courses help in college admissions?
As I am interested in Cornell, I browsed through some of their entry level courses for freshmen and I have worked through the homework, problem sets and prelims of 2 math courses ment for freshmen, is it worth mentioning them in my essays?

Nope. It doesn’t matter. It does matter that you stay active, doing something you’re interested in, be it summer camp, work, volunteer… rather than just chilling all summer long. Of course, I only speak from my children’s experience.

Edit - I am no expert in college essays but I think you should use them to say something about yourself, make you stand out as a person. You want to come across as a real eighteen years old, not some college admission automaton. Find a good book on college essays to get an idea, if you can.

Thank You for your reply

But doesn’t me taking college level courses showcase my academic ability and my interest in the university?
