Taking Course out of Sequence

I have three math courses to take before getting my associate degree. I am attending two community colleges - when a class requires me to sit in, I attend one close to me. Normally, I attend all other courses online.

Right now, I am enrolled in the first class (let’s call it math I) but considering dropping it due to the professor teaching and the manner in which she “teaches”. The other college allowed me to register for the next class (math II - starts later this month) because I am enrolled in this class. I want to drop math I and take math II, double back and take it during the summer. Math I is a pre-requisite for Math II.

Has anyone had this situation (or similar) happen to them and how did you handle it?

Unless you’ve already taken math 1 previously, the sequential nature of math makes it impossible to take level 2 before completing and,preferably, mastering, level 1.

Right— there’s a reason for having a pre-req. It’s because the first course provides the foundation for the second.
