Taking Notes in a Notebook or a Notebook?

At UCSD, are electrical plugs to plug in laptops available in lecture rooms?

and if so, which is better to takes notes with (keeping convenience and studying in mind)

a notebook:

or a notebook:

come on guysss, I included pics and everything!

haha, yes it was very amusing. im kind of also wondering if there are a large number of students who bring their laptops to class.

I’d stick with notebook for sure, it’s just better. (paper notebook that is)

I’m an entering freshman, but I’d probably take the first Notebook (paper), just because it is easier to write (takes a while to enter random symbols such as delta), and easier to draw a diagram on. Or maybe it’s because I’m not an expert on computer - limited to word, excel, ppt, and firefox :D

Word and excel will get you very far, oneday…

Lecture halls aren’t exactly brimming over with power outlets, and it might actually be dangerous to even use a power cable in a lecture hall. After, wires string across stairs doesn’t usually bode well…

Which to use totally depends on you… I don’t have a tablet, so I only use my laptop for bio, and I use paper for everything else… Some people use laptops for every class, though (they have tablets…)

If you think power is an issue, there are power outlets all over campus you could use between classes, and all the small classrooms have lots of power outlets (can’t say the same for lecture halls).

People, in general, don’t use notebook computers to take notes. Notebooks are much more convenient. (speaking from a math/sci/engineering perspective)
