I know it would be worth it of course. I want to know if this is a common method? Also, are there special loans for students that could be taken out for this kind of thing?

Also, is there any other option I have? My family simply does not have $2000 to spend on something like this (and please don’t lecture me about how it will be pocket change in comparison to the benifits and blah blah, of course I know that, the issue is having $2000 in the first place).

If you want to save money, it might be a better idea to buy prep books. Also, check out your university, they sometimes will have a discounted prep course. My school’s prep course is about 800 dollars, and it includes all of the Examkrakers books and the official practice MCATs.

Not necessarily - I found the prep course to be worthless. I second the suggestion to just buy the review books (same ones they give you in the prep courses anyway)

Same, I took a prep course and dropped out in a month. I think it depends on what kind of student you are and how well you did in your prereq’s. If you did well (A’s and B’s) in your prereq’s then you know the material and just need to brush up. In that case, if you are good at self studying and sticking to a timeline then you should just buy prep books (i recommend EK). But if you didn’t do well then maybe a prep course will help you learn the material. Also, a prep course will have a definite schedule so you will be forced to study.
