Taking Physics without studying heat, electricity, and atomic physics?

My HS doesn’t offer AP Physics. The Honors Physics class, while completely outstanding and making me an expert on the things we did study, did not go over heat, electricity, or atomic physics. I’m self-studying right now with a bunch of electricity stuff using my Physics textbook to prepare.

First of all, what score do you think I’d get not going over those subjects? Secondly, which I’m trying to do anyway, do you think I can self teach myself this stuff by Jan 24th or should I wait until May?

Questions about heat, electricity and atomic physics made up around 35% to 40% of the test. Assuming you wouldn’t make a single error on the rest, you could score around ~600, maybe even 650.

Nonetheless, 3 weeks are ton of time to study and you could easily learn that stuff on your own. I recommend Halliday/Resnick: “Fundamentals of Physics”. It’s a really large and expensive book, but you know, internet has its ups and downs. The book itself uses a bit of calculus, but it explains each concept extremely thoroughly.

Actually, that book is an overkill to SAT, especially if you want to take it in January. If you were to take it in May, then go for it.
