Taking ROTC courses in CAS?

Can a physics major in CAS take courses offered in ROTC like basic mountaineering?

I feel bad for your lack of replies, so:
No matter what college you’re in, you can take courses outside of that college as long as your major remains within it. So yes, you can take your ROTC courses from any college at Cornell (or so it’s been explained to me at campus visits).

I don’t know about the mountaineering course specifically, but I’m engineering and my girlfriend and I both took a ROTC class, specifically NAVS 310 Evolution of Warfare. I just emailed the guy teaching it and asked if it was ok. He said it was totally fine, and so I spent a semester learning about warfare with the ROTC marines.

Great class, too.

In the more physical ROTC courses, like Mountaineering, Orientation or Riflery, do we have to get dressed like a soldier? Are the instructors like drill-sergeants in the army, re: yell at you, or are they like regular teachers?
