I’m pretty sure that most people take SAT 2’s between jr./sr. year but I hear that you can take these whenever. After sophomore year, I’ll have just finished the AP American History exam and hopefully 5’d it, I do well in that class. So my question is: is it a good idea to take the SAT II for USH after sophomore year, get a good score and then not worry about it after junior year?

I’ll already be very well versed in USH and I think that it’ll save me some trouble later.

At the same time, I might also try the SAT 2 in World History since I took AP and 5’d it as a frosh.

It is always better to take the SAT II right after the course you take, I am kind of regretting not doing so earlier. Take it when you finish the course, also, make sure to get a prep book that can guide you better on the q’s asked because they usually aren’t the same as the AP test.

Ok, I think I’ll take it in june then, if I don’t do great I have another year and a half to retake.

Take the US History SAT II in May (as soon as you can after/before) the AP exam. The closer they are the better. Used REA crash course got 790. In my opinion having the AP and SATII tests close together was a big help.
