Taking six classes senior yr. instead of seven--hurt my chances or not?

To continue with my research internship through senior year I need to take 6 and not 7 classes. My seven class schedule is

Differential Equations
AP Lit
AP Stats
AP Psych
AP Physics C: Mech
AP Amer/Comp Gov combined
PE/Adv Piano

If I took six classes I’d have to cut AP Psych or AP Stats. Would it be a good idea to just take 6 and continue the research? I don’t want to hurt my chances of getting into UW. Also, another thing to consider is that taking only six classes might allow me to do one or two Running Start classes, however, I’m not sure what to do.

It should be fine, especially if it’s for an internship. Honestly, I think the internship will look more impressive than the extra class. But even if it doesn’t, you should be fine with only six classes. Rather than the amount of classes, it is the rigor of your schedule that is important.

I took only five classes (four AP and one running start) senior year with an early release and I got in fine. It’s more important to take a higher quality of classes than to take a higher quantity of classes.
