Taking SOM Classes as an Undergrad

Is it true that as an undergraduate at Yale you can take classes/work with professors in the Yale School of Management?

Yes… some classes are even the same content (I know b/c I worked at SOM and ended up taking two of the classes for my undergrad major)

By the way, I didn’t mean to imply that you were taking classes with the SOM students – just that some classes meant for undergrads were taught by the same instructor with the same books and assignments. Many of the profs also are in other disciplines (econ, mathematics, etc.) and teach in other departments.

What’s your major?

Also, is there a list available of the SOM classes you can take as an undergrad?

Thanks!

I was an Econ/PoliSci major (no longer exists). I took Managerial Accounting and Quant – I forget the real title of this class. It was very useful. Quant was a mandatory class for all 1st year SOM folks.

On the course catalog, you can figure out some classes that are taught out of SOM.

Where did you work in the SOM if you don’t mind me asking T26E4?

haha, I was thinking of the same thing, StarryEyes101 ;)

Also, Do you guys know of any other undergraduate schools that allow you to take classes at their business school as an undergrad?

Thanks!

I worked in the mail room! It was my FA student job… nothing fancy folks. Sorry to disappoint!
