Hello!
I have conflicting classes on my senior year schedule. Honors Calculus is the same period as Creative Writing, a subject I’m very passionate about. I originally wasn’t planning on taking calculus, but instead, prob/stat. However, after visiting many schools over spring break, I realized how crucial the class was. I was able to find a course at Northern Kentucky University I could take for my calculus credit for high school, the course being called Applied Calculus (MAT 112). I emailed many schools I wish to apply to, however they gave me vague responses (ex. “Take courses that interest you” or “Calculus isn’t required”). I’m just wondering, when colleges see an Applied Calculus course, will they think that I took it to take an easier class, or will they appreciate how I took it upon myself to take the course during the summer to take classes on what I wish to pursue in the future?
Colleges I’m looking at:
Brown (ED)
Northwestern
Barnard
Wellesley
Wesleyan
NYU
Tufts
