I am a transfer student.
At my first university I took a course called “Social Psychology.” I got an A in the class.
At my current university, I am presently taking a course called, “Development of Social Behavior.” Both courses are very similar and cover some of the same topics.
Will it look bad for medical school if I take two courses that are very similar in content? Will it matter? How will this affect me exactly?

Eh, they’re not going to know that they had similar content - don’t worry about it. But why are you taking a class that is so similar to one you’ve already taken?

Honestly, because I have a very heavy workload this semester, including Biochem and Genetics, so I want to lighten the load a bit. Development of Social Behavior is a well-known ‘easy A’ in my school.
The names of the two courses are almost identical, hence the “Social.” How wouldn’t they know?

Because they’re not going to go look through two school’s class lists and look at the course descriptions just to find out if they have the same content. Just don’t make a habit out of it haha.

Honestly, I would be bored to death taking the same class twice. But, no, they’re not going to scrutinize your transcript that closely.
