<p>Will it count? Yes. Will it help your application? IMO, that depends. If you’re a native speaker and have been taking HS Spanish courses to pick up grammar, etc. that you didn’t learn at home, then that’s more valid than if you just took the test to easily fulfill the SAT II requirement without coursework. Particularly in applying to selective colleges, I think it would strengthen your application more to fulfill the requirement with a different test that demonstrates the knowledge you attained after a year of dedicated study. </p>
<p>Again, JMO based on the belief that colleges want to see that you’re challenging yourself.</p>
