taking the SATs four times with improvement everytime. How do schools look at that?

When I took the SAT in march and may, I really wasn’t prepared. I got 1200 the first time (580v and 620m). In may I got 1240 (640v and 600m).

I decided that I would spend the summer studying my ass off for the test. In November I got a 1360 (710v and 650m), and then in December I got a 1410 (740v and 670m). I’ve heard that schools don’t look favorably on students who have taken the test four times, but do you think I am a different case since my scores went up fairly dramatically each time?

Thank you!

I took it a 4th time, mainly for my own peace of mind (I get terribly nervous during standardized tests).

1st time: 1200
2nd time: 1320 (700v 620m)
3rd time: 1300 (690v 610m) - I missed 0 S.C. 1 analogy, and 7 C.R…
4th time: 1420 (800v 620m)

I’m sure this won’t look too hot, but I don’t care. I should have gotten an 800 verbal the second time or third time. I just let my nerves get in the way. I was on a personal vendetta i think…

i also took it a 4th time

1st: 700 V, 610 M
2nd: 690 V, 650 M
3rd: 700 V, 740 M
4th: 740 V, 760 M

for the 1500, it was worth it. i really don’t think 4 times is a big deal.

what did you guys do to go up so much, and how long did it take?

i’m stuck in the mid 1300s and i want to at least break 1400, prehaps a 1450 for the january 22 testing. i’m trying to come up w/ a study strategy

i read in ‘A is for Admission’ which is written by a former dartmouth admissions officer, that they don’t really like to see you take it more than 3 times. but if you were able to get it up a lot and you only took it 4 times i can’t think it would hurt too much. it’s kind of ironic, colleges place so much importance on the sat, but get annoyed when you do too!
