i’m at JC right now but im transfering to a cal state school. I was reading the course catalog and i am supposed to take 45 units towards my major and the other 15 units can be taken at a community college.

my question is for anyone that knows…it doesn’t say which courses i should take at jc…can i take any electives i want for those 15 units?

Using ASSIST is a good idea. It would also generally be wise to take gen eds at the JC and wait on any major-specific coursework for the 4 year institution – especially if you’ll be applying to any kind of competitive professional or grad school program (JC credits tend to be looked down upon since it is often assumed the classes were much easier and less thorough and rigorous)

yeah i’m leaning towards sociology major and the school website says all major requirments must be taken at the university(45 units) and the remaining 15 unites can be taken at a JC. So i assume those 15 should be elective courses?

i start university in the fall and my cc offers late spring courses (april start) as well as summer courses. I’m just wondering since i’m going to have the free time if i should take some cc courses out of the way in late spring and summer. The only issue is that the university isn’t very clear what courses i could take other than they tell you which courses are transferable.
