Talk ourselves off the ledge?

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m getting pretty stressed about the upcoming decisions (bowdoin and pomona today!!). All these schools (top LACs and ivies) seem to be getting a record number of apps and the process is such a crapshoot, I’m kind of in panic mode! Already into my safety and I think I’ll get into at least one other of my safeties, but would anyone like to join in freaking out and talking ourselves off the ledge? Such as, it’s ok to go to your safety school, where you go to college does not define you, it’s not a reflection of your character, etc. I think we all could use a reality check so as not to have a huge crisis if decisions don’t work the way we want them to.

Sounds to me like your last two sentence sum it up pretty well. Good luck!

Get off the ledge!!! Yes it is exciting to appeal to elite schools. Be proud that you presented a profile that allowed you to make credible applications. Most seniors did not earn that status. Even under the best of circumstances, acceptance is demote.

…remote. I assume you applied to good schools that are your safeties. If the worst thing that happens to you is attending a safety, maybe even with money, you will earn a good education to the degree that you apply yourself. This is very nervous times, I know, but worry doesn’t move the admissions process any faster. Your life is before, go forward with joy and enthusiasm. educationalists lease put potted flowers on your ledge.
