Talked to an ad/com today

Since I know this has come up on the boards alot…

I asked about going over word wise - she said, 50 over or under is okay, anything farther then that is not good. They have alot of stuff to read, and if they get your app near the end of the day, they won’t be very happy with students who can’t follow directions and cut it down. Better to re-write the entire essay then to have a 800 word for a 500…

Other random thing - she said that creative writing can be submitted after Oct. 15th deadline, but to get them out ASAP and hopefully before Nov. 1st…

oh darn…my essay is 830…i’d better cut some stuff. my 250 is 350…yikes. this means i got tons of work left.

I got a mail from UA office today saying the same thing abt creative writing. She said that I can submit it by nov. 1st

They aren’t going to count words, though. My essays were each about 100 over, and one of my roommates told me she had one pushing 700. As long as it doesn’t look significantly over 500, you should be fine.
