I chose this topic: What would you protest and why?

I started writing an essay about the negatives about the SAT and what it has turned out to be. Is this risky with colleges, or do they not really care what you write about?

Actually, I’m sure that others have sent this topic. As long as you are passionate and can support your point, it doesn’t matter what you write about. You could write about why you think abortion is fine to an admissions committee full of pro-lifers (anti-choicers!!!) and they couldn’t fault you on it, if well-written (as long as they weren’t a Catholic church-affiliated school, in which case the subject would probably warrant a rejection). Basically, you can write whatever you want, but support your point and try to make it interesting to read because I’m sure that they have heard it before.
