Hi, I’m applying to TAMS (http://tams.unt.edu/) for the graduating class of 2016. I applied for regular decision and have already attended the interview day. So far, I believe my chances of being accepted are fairly high, considering TAMS has an accepts around 50% of the people invited to the interview. Anyway, I was wondering if any TAMS student/alumnus could clarify how the financial aid works and what the average financial aid offered to TAMS students might be.

They covered this during Interview Day, but probably just to the parents. You were probably testing or interviewing. There is no merit aid from TAMS or UNT. You may or may not be eligible for government, need-based aid. After filling out the FAFSA, your parents will have received an estimation of their contribution. TAMS ability to help poor students has shrunk considerably, and will be offered to those with the greatest demonstrated, un-met need first. In essence, their first priority is to soften those hardest hit. As far how it works, I believe the parents write their checks after the government financial aid (if any) has been credited to your account, and after the final cost of your attendance has been calculated.
