TAMU Holistic review candidates Class of 2022

I am sorry you feel that you cannot wait any longer @TXagghopeful1 and that you feel the pressure to make a choice, based on other people having decisions. In the long run, if that is what you need to do, it may be best. A&M is competitive all the way around, and not just for admissions. The admissions portion is only a tip of things to come as far as having to wait and stressful. One must have a strong constitution for handling stress a huge public university can bring. It isn’t for everyone, that is for sure. My middle child gets overwhelmed fairly easy with constant demands she knew after visiting and meeting with an advisor, that a less intense atmosphere was more up her alley. She also would have benefited I think, by staying her first year at home. There is just so much adjustment freshman year.
I wish you well at all of your endeavors. You can be successful wherever you chose to be!!

Does anyone know where to get BlinnTEAM stats of previously accepted students?

@TXagghopeful1 : But how many of your friends or classmates have been accepted to TAMU or another wold class top level University? They are just starting to roll out decisions, you might be jumping ship too soon.

Yes, waiting is difficult. Patience is difficult to master but a necessary skill in adult life.

My daughter received her Blinn-TEAM 2017 offer on Valentine’s Day last year.

Good luck in whatever you choose. May you reach your goals.

@TXagghopeful1 A piece of advice from someone a little older than you. The real world is a cold and unforgiving place that will not revolve around your life schedule. Life is hard and frustrating and “unfair”. I have been to some of the most poverty stricken and polluted neighborhoods along the Texas Mexico border (Mexican side). I have seen children scavenge the local dump as the horse pulled wagons deposit the most filthy garbage you can imagine while smoke rises from the ground with the smell of the toxic burning plastic that lies just under the surface. Is it fair that those kids live in that condition? Is it fair they don’t and will not have the fraction of opportunities that you have? Are you entitled to any more than they are? Patience in waiting is not easy. Consider this experience as an opportunity to grow and mature. We all want a decision when we want it as it is human nature to focus on our desires first. Be thankful of your opportunity and that A&M is taking its time to carefully consider each and everyone of the review admits. It is their care in the process that is a major factor in it taking so long and maybe why you get an offer eventually.

dont give up. We have seven acceptances on in our hand and are facing the same thing. We are waiting on a couple of OOS as well TAMU is what we feel we need to make an informed decision. Sometimes reading these forums can make one more nervous too! We applied around thanksgiving so I fear we will hear back late.

@TXagghopeful1 My son was very stressed about applying and then having to wait. What really helped him was figuring out alternatives if the news was a denial. We began to look at the ACC A&M option, he had been admitted to several other schools, so we began planning trips for him to speak to advisers. The wait is difficult, but it will be all the sweeter when you get that acceptance. IF you are denied, then you have some back up plans. I always tell my son to never give up. It’s very cliche’d, but if you want it bad enough you will find a way to make it happen. Hang in there!

@TXagghopeful1 Just because friends have committed to colleges doesn’t mean they graduate high school and start college any sooner? Good luck!

I did not see a "Library " tab.
*Still “UNDER REVIEW” Son said he had 6 tabs this morning, but no acceptance letter:(
Changes made to his Howdy: 6 tabs and Manage Applications changed to BAC-ENGE-GV.
AIS changes: ENGE- General Engineering “CS location” at the top of the page and on the bottom of the page says “GV”…

@Thelma2 Are Galveston, Blinn Team, and Blinn/Bryan, all auto transition to A&M? Or only Galveston after year one (second semester apply for Areo. etc) and others are after so many hours of credit?
Hoping he can have some good news when he checks tonight!

@aeromum its not a tab, it is at the very top next to the logout and help button but now that I think about it, I think it has always been there

Thanks for all of your support and advice

Does TAMU send rejection letters throughout this process or hold them until the end? My son received acceptance letters to 5 other schools, so he has options with dorm deposits down and plans to wait it out until he has to make a decision.

That feeling when you get the semester bill from TAMU for the older child whilst still waiting on the younger to be admitted…I almost feel like responding with “invoice complete and in review”!

@Thelma2 thank you for pointing that out! You are so helpful. I didn’t realize that Transfers and Freshmen had such different processes. Are Transfers offered spots after Freshmen?

Hang in there @TXagghopeful1
We are all just sheets of paper to them right now. It’s not that the school might not want you. They haven’t gotten to meet you -yet! Make your decisions based on what you want your future to be, not what the present is pressuring you to do. Lots of us waiting here with you and praying for dreams to come true.

@aghopeful420 - Our daughter received her Blinn Team acceptance on 02/14/17. Her six tabs appeared on 02/15/17 [Home] [Applicant] [My Record] [My Finances] [Student Life] and [My Howdy]. She received her package in the mail from TAMU Office of Admissions on 02/23/17 with the “I’m Going to Be An Aggie” Banner. She was a BIMS major with AgriBusiness as a minor. She just loves being an Aggie.

These were her stats:

Admission Type: Freshman
Term: 2017 Fall
Major: Blinn TEAM
College: GS
Degree: BAC

When did you apply: 10/01
When did you get your UIN: 10/02
When did you receive your admission decision: 02/15/17
Review Admit
Major/College of Choice: Biomedicine/Agribusiness
Did you get in: Blinn TEAM
Class Rank: 96/726 (12.2%)

Good luck to all of you still waiting. We were in your shoes just last year and know exactly how you are feeling.

@Stimmer64 as far as I have seen, They come out at the end. Now how long they hang on to them before the send out date, I don’t think anyone knows.

Your AIS will display your offer or lack thereof, be it that you have been offered PSA (which some view as a rejection but it is really another pathway) which came out over a several day period (which could also mean the day it was reported vs showed up on AIS) and the outright denial will say something like, “We regret that we cannot off you admissions to Texas A&M University”. I do believe those are all on the same day, at one time, from what I gather. That is not verbatim but from what I understand, along the lines of.

@aghopeful420
Do you have a decision and care you share your stats?

@Thelma2 I shared them on this forum at 12:03 today. No decision yet.

My only issue is how my friend (A) who applied in November found out last week that she was BlinnTeamed but I haven’t heard anything. My other friend (B) who has higher stats & better EC’s than friend (A) still hasn’t heard anything either

The library tab has been there all along. Noticed that last week and wondered the same but that isn’t a change…
