TAMU Holistic review candidates Class of 2022

Congratulations @sbk90078 That full admissions to engineering at the Galveston for the first year, then transition to College Station.

Would you mind sharing your stats?

@Thelma2 I am in the same situation. Does that mean I have been denied from College Station?

@sbk90078 to be clear my sons major has never changed. Always been CVEN. What did change was the “Program” designation to BS-CVEN-GCE. Is that what changed for you? It is located in the “manage my application “ section on Howdy. Location was changed to College Station a little over a week ago.

My son stats… 3.2 took all ap and pre ap classes in highly competitive high school. 2nd qtr rank , 1340 SAT 670 on both parts . Major construction science . What would you think of his chances @Thelma2 ??

@ajax5205 If the location on your AIS says Galveston, then yes, that means you were not offered a seat at the college station campus for your freshman year. College Station has x number of seats and when those are filled, they offer full admits a spot in Galveston. All freshmen in College Station and Galveston in the general engineering program will be doing the exact same curriculum and those who are eligible to will apply to Entry To A Major in April of your freshman year and transition to College Station the next fall to begin you sophomore year.

It is a program that is considered full admission and is in its second year. Very well worth considering. Do put in for the housing, because it is a smaller campus and fills up, while you contemplate your decision. You have until May 1.

It is not so much where you begin, but where you finish.

@Thelma2 thanks for all your expertise. So if offers for Galveston are going out that’s means CS is full, right?

Kind of makes me think that if the program location in AIS still says CS then that is not a good sign (this is my anxiety taking over)

Think maybe I’ll give up worrying about things beyond my control for Lent, but then I’m not sure what I’d do with my free time, lol.

@txnjenn I can’t believe CS is full. My son is one of the few that have heard anything about A&M admittance in his VERY large high school in Austin. This makes me think that there will be many more acceptances. I really think Hurricane Harvey pushed back the admittance time frame.

@txnjenn :-? Hmmmmm. I am sorry to add to your anxiety but generally, that is how it works. That said, I cannot say that for certain because I just don’t know. This is an uncommon year, with the huge delay in the decisions. Last year was the first year for ED and it didn’t go smooth. Then with the delayed application deadlines, this is just a mess. There were several posts where it was said they were concentrating on getting the ED ones out first, but there have been some RD ones as well.

I wish I could give you something more definitive but I can’t. It grieves me. Giving up worry for lent sounds like a great idea. Tomorrow is a perfect day to start! Take the reprieve now, as it starts over once they leave home and are in engineering.

Do keep me posted to what happens so I can mark it in my notes.

@babymomma It is sooooo very hard to chance review applicants because the scores and rank are just one slice of the pie. A&M will take the scores and have a projected GPA that your son would earn and then start adding in course work, rigor, EC’s, essays, etc. Good Luck!!!

@Thelma2 is it bad that we havent gotten engineering at Galveston and it says major: CVEN and program: BS-CVEN-GCS

@Thelma2 I appreciate your candor. I’ll check back in when the decision is final so you have the info for your stats and can continue to help others in the future.

I have applied for BAEN as first choice (Biological and Agricultural Engineering). I have been ranked 2nd qtr by A&M .
There has been no change to my page except the 52a moved to 6a to 1a at the bottom right of the Application page. Any idea if BAEN major is filled up? I really am quite eager to this major.
.

Have all the Blinn TEAM offers been sent out yet? I have friends and friends of friends who recieved TEAM offers last week. I was hoping to receive a TEAM or better, but 5 months later I’m still anxiously checking my AIS daily. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated!

@txnjenn @soccer19310 @trinley In looking back at some 2020 result (nothing popped up 2021) the BS-CVEN-GCS can change to anything at this point. Waiting is tough and with the deadline for engineering 2 months behind for the first one, there is just no guideline or trend to follow for how the rest will play out.

I guess Engineering will further be on pins and needles with the other review applicants for all other majors. :-SS

so College station is full with Engineering applicants or all applicants in general?

Have they released t decisions for Galveston? I still have BAC-ENGE-GV And am still under review…

@Lupescupe no one on this forum knows if CS is full. Everyone on here is making the best guess based on past experiences, reading tea leaves and entrails. I called admissions yesterday and they stated they were working to get out all decisions by the end of the month. So based on that, I do not think CS is full.

All Engineering decisions or all Review admits?

Two days ago my son’s Manage Application page updated to engineering at Galveston. Then he got 6 tabs the next morning (yesterday). However, AIS still hasn’t updated. Has this happened to anyone else?

@93txag from all that I have read it can take an extra day for AIS to update. I wouldn’t be concerned.
