If you click on the icon of the bus, it will bring up all of the on campus and off campus routes. You can zoom it in or out. Play around and explore with it. I used it a lot when we were checking out off campus single family houses for a group of boys for next year. Having access to a bus was a feature important to us because not all of the boys has a car on campus.
@KIMZ99 Please let me know about your impression when you visit Galveston. I wonder why TAMUG scheduled the engineering day on March 22nd Thursday and we that have to pull our kids from schools. Weekend would be much better. But I think we will still be there on the 22nd, so we can finally decide based on actual facts we will receive and see that day. We visited UTD last December and my son likes it. He got some scholarships at UT Arlington, UNT and Texas Tech but he prefers UTD. No scholarships given by Texas State, UH, UTSA and most likely TAMU too. We live in Austin. He is left with two choices: UTD or Tamu. As a parent, I prefer him to go to either of the three schools that gave him scholarships but I also want him to choose the school that he really likes. He plans to major in computer science. Best of luck to your son. Regards

Baylor is his back up and we have a deposit down there, just getting so frustrated with the slow processing at TAMU
@Thelma2 I have gained so much support and encouragement from you and all the posters in this group. My prayers are with those students still waiting to hear a response. I wanted to share my stats so that you can have even more information to help others. Thanks for all you do and continue to do!

@MominPlano Yes, 91 still waiting on a decision OR have not come back to report a decision if they received one. So, in other words, i have 91 spaces blank to fill in for applicants who have posted here.
Sometimes people come back to do so later. May 1, I will delete any of them who don’t post a decision. I don’t check the posts daily after Spring Break but I mark which page I left off of and then pick it up from there, every so often.

My son was accepted to Texas Tech. They have chartered buses that take them back and forth from Houston for Spring Break, Thanksgiving and Christmas Break. Since my son is not bringing a car, the distance made it seem doable. We live in Dallas and Texas Tech offers the shuttle to Dallas, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.
Yes. He applied late to TAMU, January 1st. He was set on TCU but had change of heart. I’ve been really impressed with our interactions with Texas Tech. He is applying for Honors College and plans to do Air Force ROTC. He just really wants wants CStation. Texas Tech will be adding a Veterinary School and last year received designation as a Carnegie Tier One university. If he doesn’t get a path to TAMU, I think he could be happy at Tech.
@Thelma2 for directory applicant release haven’t put preference- wasn’t sure about it - do you have to submit that? Would that hold up a decision? Your advice please. Still praying…
@Stimmer64 I like the interactions with Tech as well. We go visit on Thursday. I think this is where he will go if TAMU doesn’t happen. I did not know about the buses home. We are in the Houston area.
We toured Tech in December and I liked it a lot. Excellent business school as well. my son is accepted there, but for some reason doesn’t want to go there. We are also in the Houston area, the buses are a great idea!

WE feel your pain. My ex husband and myself both graduated from A&M/92 and 93. Our son applied on Sept. 7th. My son made a 29 on his ACT and 1280 on SAT. He is in top 16% at a competitive high school (I know everyone is saying that), almost all AP classes, NHS, THSCA All Academic All State 1st team for football, etc. WE only received Blinn Team. We cried, son felt deflated, etc. I truly don’t want him to go there now due to the stringing along and the lack of professionalism that the admission office showed. As a former Aggie, I am sad that our university has become this. Son received a letter of acceptance automatically from OU with scholarships and TCU with scholarships as well. I was extremely impressed with OU! We just can’t afford out of state even with scholarships due to me being a teacher. This has been a horrible 6 months. You and your child are suppose to enjoy senior year. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case.
People in this area don’t understand Blinn TEAM and think he got rejected and are making fun of the whole BlinnTEAM saying it isn’t an acceptance/not an Aggie, etc.
Thank you for allowing me to vent and rant. My hope is to help my former students and their parents with this process. I have even told parents to transfer their children to the less academic high school in the district so they can get that silly top 10% that A&M loves.
@harleycat : Does it really matter what other people think about Blinn-TEAM? Does he want to be a happy Aggie in Aggieland, earn an Aggie diploma and the Aggie ring and have the phenomenal Aggie network behind him when he graduates? Or are those other people’s thoughts worth going somewhere else? Is it his LIFE or their uninformed opinions that is most important?
The ONLY people who think less of Blinn-TEAM are people who are NOT IN AGGIELAND!! Aggies. Don’t. Care. A lot of full admit TAMU students take classes at BLINN Bryan.
Blinn-TEAM gets the “Aggie Banner”, they are AGGIES! Take photos and post them on your fb.
. Blinn-TEAM students are chosen, the admissions committee think that they will THRIVE as Aggies, it is simply a space issue as there are so many qualified students applying that there are not enough seats available.
Check out my thread on TAMU Blinn-TEAM Fall 2017 : parent perspective do a lot of info on the experience of our family. My daughter is currently a Freshman on TAMU Blinn- TEAM and is LOVING living the Aggie life in Aggieland!
I hope that he chooses to be a Fightin TX Aggie Class of 2022.
