TAMU Holistic review candidates Class of 2022

Is there a TAMU housing thread(CStat)?

@zkt777 no downside that I’ve seen. Eng classes at tamu and a core class if you want. Have a friends son who does it and loves it.

If you get PSA what does your Howdy say? I know AIS says it but does howdy say anything?

Is anyone still waiting for a decision from TAMU? I have been following this thread even though I don’t have a HS Senior this year! LOL!

I hope that Thelma2 posts the list of stats and decisions for participants on this board. I am looking forward to seeing it. It is impossible to know exactly why one applicant received full admit and another similar applicant received PSA, but it is interesting to see the variables. There are so many wonderful students on this board, I hope that they all enjoy their college years.

Also do y’all think it is possible to get 30 credit hours in a summer and fall semester?

@shanjohnson26 Yes it is possible but may not be advisable depending on the courses you take. If PSA is offered I believe you must take two long semesters. Regular transfer requires 24 hours and a2.5 GPA to be considered. It does not mean that your major will take you with a 2.5.

About 45 minutes North West of Philadelphia!!!

@AZparent99 @mlouise Nice to see a PA connection. Lived in TX about 4 years now. Grew up 20 Miles below Philly but moved here from Lehigh valley area.

If my son choose to go to Blinn and not take PSA… applying to A&M again for Spring. Where can he live in CS? Can he join a fraternity if he wanted to?

@aggiehope22 there is a ton of student housing near campus and away from campus. Some in between blinn and tamu. Anyone can live there. To name a few Zislander, park west (newest addition right by blue bell park-baseball stadium) northpoint crossing, aspen heights, reveille ranch, and a ton at north gate area that are pretty new.

What’s your sons major? I definitely think applying as spring transfer is a smart way to go.

As for frat… pretty sure they only take Tamu students and possibly blinn team. Not sure though. Also, many Frats do rush in spring as well so he could wait til then and not miss out.

@mlouise Where is your daughter considering. For PSA?

Soooo, my son was offered PSA and had no plans to accept the offer. I was curious and wanted to see what schools he would be allowed to participate at and we hit the button about requesting info or something to that nature. Well now, the decline button is no longer there and he is flipping out that now he thinks he had to participate. I know that this isn’t the case but there is nowhere on the page that we can decline the offer now. Any thoughts on what we need to do?

@aghopeful420 I would assume that if your son does not accept the PSA offer by the deadline then A&M assumes he has no plans to attend a PSA school and thus declines the offer. My son hit the same button to check out the schools. He is going to attend the Blinn Brenham Engineering Academy instead so will let the clock run out on the PSA offer.

So hitting that button didn’t “accept” PSA? It was weird because the decline button is no longer there. I will call admissions tomorrow just to be sure I think.

Since we didn’t click on a particular school we assumed that A&M wouldn’t know where to “accept us”. Please let us know what you find out. In any case they should keep the decline button to eliminate confusion.

@aggiehope22, check out callaway house. My oldest lived there three years ago, and my youngest will live there next year. I don’t think you have to be full admit or Blinn Team to live there.

Hello, anyone here a readmit student? Just applied for readmission to TAMU after a rough freshman year. I spoke to the advisor for my department and have drastically improved since I was last at TAMU. Anyone have any idea on how long it’ll take to receive a decision?

We were in College Station and met with an admissions advisor and she said not to worry if we hit the button to request info. She said it doesn’t do anything unless you click on a school to participate, I told her that the decline button disappeared and she she said that everything is fine and that the university will just assume you are declining unless you accept and choose a school by May 1.

Has anyones howdy page updated if you got PSA? Or does it still say “under review”
