TAP ceritifcation

Should you get this out of the way as early as possible?

Theoretically:

Spring 2010

Calculus III
Honors Music 101
Honors Art 101
Honors Polysci 101
General Physics 120

[TAP DONE]

SUMMER
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS

Fall 2011

Linear Algebra
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS

[PRE-REQ’S DONE]

Intersession

IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS

SPRING

IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS
IGETC CLASS

This is okay, right? To get TAP certified and get my one more pre-req satisfied in the fall semester?

How about the other way around? Get all my math classes taken care of for spring and then the TAP ones? I only need 3 more.

It all depends on your CC: no one can give you an accurate answer right off the bat. It’s best to talk to your TAP counselor.

For example at my old CC that schedule is absolutely unacceptable and you would be permab& from my CC’s TAP lol. But that’s only because my CC Scholars Program is run by fascists. They required at least two honors classes for the first two semesters, followed by a single honors class per remaining semester till you leave.

Sample schedule:

Fall08:
Class X
Class Y
HONORS
HONORS

Spring09:
Class X
Class Y
HONORS
HONORS

Fall09:
Class X
Class Y
Class Z
HONORS

Spring10:
Class X
Class Y
Class Z
HONORS

“It is my responsibility to enroll in at least one honors course each year. Two consecutive semesters without an honors course/option will result in dismissal from the program.” It says I only need six, but I’ve got three taken care of already and I’m going to have four in the spring. Thin I could get my TAP certification at the end of spring? Do I still have to remain in the TAP program after I get certified?

To be honest, I don’t know lol. I don’t want to give you bad advice. The only advice I can give is that it’s best to discuss this with your TAP counselor: You’ll have your answer straight from the source and be doubt-free! See him/her soon; best to find out earlier on than later out; you don’t want any nasty surprises down the line.

What CC do you go to? Maybe someone on this board who’s at your CC can better help you. Sorry for not being too helpful dude.
