Target schools for 3.5 GPA, 2010 SAT Score?

3.5 GPA, 2010 SAT Score – which schools should be target for an international student?

Please do some research to find the best schools for you. Asking such an open ended question is not the way to proceed.

Top 50 schools are reaches or out of reach.

What do you want to study?

How much can you pay?

Are you living in the US now? You might be considered an in-state resident at the public colleges and universities in your state.

Are you living outside the US now? Then you need to start by reading through everything (and I do indeed mean everything) at http://educationusa.state.gov/ When you have done that, contact the counselors at the advising center closest to you for help with this process. http://educationusa.state.gov/find-advising-center

Thanks all. Very helpful. Here are some more details. Thinking of majoring in Chem but want to go to a good school all around as am not 100% sure. Don’t live in the US and haven’t previously. Are colleges like Tufts, Vanderbilt and UVA out of question? Perhaps Illinois Urbana Champaign and Wisconsin Madison are more within reach? Any others I should think of?

Some of those schools provide NO AID to int’ls, so how much will your family pay each year?

Cost is not a consideration as my dad’s employer covers college education.

^^
Wow…all costs? or just tuition? Even abroad?

That increases your options considerably, as you will not have to be concerned that many highly selective U.S. colleges are “need aware” in terms of admissions for internationals. The University of Rochester fits your academic considerations and basic statistics at least fairly well, and is an excellent school.

Smaller, exclusively undergraduate-focused colleges could also be good to consider. Two that may work: Union (NY) and Trinity (Conn.).

Many thanks merc81. Will look into Rochester, Union and Trinity. If there are other schools that fit, please let me know.

mom2collegekids, yes employer covers everything so no economic constraints…
