Junior here looking for colleges to apply to. What do you think are some match schools for me? I’m interested in economics. I am at a top public high school in Virginia and here are my stats:
GPA:4.0 uw (top 10%)
ACT: 35
Taken all available hardest classes
Do you have any extracurricular activities?
What’s the breakdown of your ACT score?
Do you have any preferences to the type of college you wish to attend?
For example, does it have to be religiously affiliated?
Or have a certain political air about it?
Do you find it’s surroundings (rural, suburban, urban) important?
Is cost a factor?
Do you care about location relative to how far away you are from home?
These and many other factors are important to consider beyond your stats.
I have pretty good extra curriculars. My act is 36 s 35 e 34 r 34 m. I would prefer to attend a private school because cost is not an issue. I do not want a religiously affiliated school. I don’t care about the surroundings or how far away it is from home.
What are your specific extracurriculars? I’m not an expert by any means, but I do think that schools prefer you to hold leadership positions in productive organizations. Like a chairman for Student Council, founder of a successful debate team, etc.
I would suggest taking the SAT with writing and the ACT with writing. This way, you can apply to some Ivies. Amherst, University of Michigan, Georgia Tech, and other schools of that nature strike me as good fits. I’d do research on the quality of the economic programs in Top Tier schools to help guide your search. Additionally, apply to maybe a few state schools or lower-ranked private schools as safety nets, given the unforgiving nature of admissions.
I got an 8 on the ACT writing @PFAnimals
Thanks!
