wow i thought a lot more people had cornell 1 as their first?
i guess they must have evened that out in the first round of decisions…

A lurker comes forward from the shadows. I was not given an interview, and I was wondering, Aida, do you know how they rate the essays?

whoa, so many cornell II’s now. and i know iriseyes and sheep had it as their first choice as well.

i don’t think they take your seminar choices into consideration for determining whether or not you’ll get an interview/get accepted into the program. i thought they figure out who goes where AFTER determining which 86 kids to accept. correct me if i’m wrong, anyone who knows.

I thought they just pick the 86 ppl and then figure out where to put everyone and if this is true, once you do get in how do they decide who gets their first choice? do the better essays/interview get first pick or is it more of just a lottery type thing?

mm, i don’t think it’s random. they probably try to pick cohesive, diverse groups of people for each seminar (meaning if five lebanese kids from connecticut put cornell I as their first choice, chances are they’re not all going to get their first choice), but i’m guessing those who are better qualified are given priority. again, this is just speculation.

it would be cool if half of cornell II (i counted 9 so far…) are on CC. lmao.

Quite a few from my TASP were on CC before. Like 5 or 6 by my guesstimate. Some of us (like me) didn’t join until after we got in, and then frantically googled TASP to learn even more about it.

haha, tako, I’m EIC for our paper next year…not because I did anything special, but because basically everyone else in my grade has quit. we have four people total from all the grades who are coming back next year. so at least you work for a decent paper!

Hey guys, long time no post
I read… like 10 pages of back-posts maybe? then I got bored. But it’s so nice to see that everyone had a relatively good interview. Or at least challenging.

I spent all day hang flyers up at Stanford and I had a box of push pins-- Well I kept them in my pocket and on the bus on my way home they all spilled so my leg is all cut up from the pushpins in my pocket… Im over it though

Oh its also crazy right now they are doing elections at Stanford-- WOW they spend so much on their campaigns. Ppl had full websites Professional banners and tshirts… DJs on campus. free food. And So many posters. I wish I could campaign like that for ASB

^ That’s SO COOL that you get to visit Stanford. And WOW, websites and banners? That sounds so professional (and no wonder, since they’ll probably go into real time politics soon).

What were you hanging up flyers for? Are you helping out w/ an election?

Hm…This has nothing to do with anything, but I just realized that the first half of my username, when spoken, sounds eerily close to “dyin’” Hahaha.

Well, then, I’m off to homework-land! In the meanwhime, I’ll be hoping against hope that I might have the chance to meet all you scary-amazing people! :0]

i always thought it was pronounced “day-in”. heheh.

now back to this painting… that i should’ve finished waaaayyyy before this week.

Oh I was hanging up flyers for a “Save Darfur Lecture”

ahh I hate pronunciation. There is this kid named Johes, And I pronounced it with a long O (Jo-es)
But it really is pronounced (Joe Hess)
silly corey.
