HAY GUYS. I was gone on a college tour this weekend. Loved Vassar and Georgetown, wasn’t crazy about George Washington. Also, I decided that it might be a better fit for me to look more closely at Barnard than at Columbia, just because I work better in a small environment. What do you all think? TAKO EIC LOVE.

Dude, inky and I talked all night on Friday. Hawt. And I will seriously die if we all get into Cornell II.

Hmm.

So basically editor in chief decisions were the most miserable thing ever. I cried lots :(

I just wanted to tell you guys so that you can all be excited for the story.

So me and my best bud went to Noah’s and we were all happy/jittery/excited. I mean, we totally thought we had it in the bag. There was no way anybody else could possibly be chosen.

Anyway, we have french class together (in the period before lunch. After lunch = journalism = decision time). And she gets a note from our advisor saying, “Please meet me at the beginning of lunch.”

And we’re like, OMG HOW SCARY.

Anyway, she goes to the meeting. I freak out basically the entire lunch.

The bell rings. I walk to class, and catch her walking out of the adviser’s classroom, and she’s in tears.

She says, “I don’t want to talk about it right now” and so I am quiet. We play some silly bonding game during journalism and she goes out to take a walk and compose herself and I’m miserable because she’s miserable.

Finally end of class they announce editor decisions. So they announce that there’s only one editor in chief (but I saw that coming from my best bud’s reaction) and that I got it. My best bud got managing instead.

Ummm so essentially the main reason why I wanted to be editor in chief so bad is that I wanted to be editor in chief with HER. And…well, we made a bazillion plans and it was going to be so perfect and everything and it just kills me that we’re not together.

Anyway, they must have had quite a surprise when they announce that I’m the editor in chief of the newspaper and I start tearing up. Yes, and then the bell rings and me and my best bud literally walk out in tears.

Then we spend the next three hours walking around and sitting and talking and ranting and crying.

Then we see our advisor, woot woot. She comes over and starts making small talk and we’re trying our best not to cry and it was awkward.

Hehe and I guess we’re a tad mean but we carved a heart with “BSJ” (the editor in chiefs’ and our advisor’s initials) and drew a line through it on the library steps. Haha. Um. Yeah.

And now I am home. I wallowed in misery for a while with ice cream.

vacation next week i’ll be in philly and dc visiting stuff

congrats on eic, hopefully it wont be too awkward with your friend…

Good job on EIC tako but it sucks that it’s so bittersweet. =/

At least you have something fun to look forward to next year when you’re going through TASP withdrawl! (Oh yes, I went there. <3)

Tako Im sorry… But just cause she doesn’t have the title you can still do all your plans together. Your advisor seems chill from what I have heard and im sure she would understand if the other girls role expanded just a tad. And if not well do it under the radar.

Im happy for you

Oh and lunch tomorrow… I say yes.

Tako tried to explain how she knew me and it came off really creppy. “yea we met online, this is the first time in person”

So I just told ppl it was from a “summer program.”

I told a few friends about some of you that i talk to regularly (in chatrooms and whatnot) and i got the standard lecture about meeting people online. Ever since then if i accidently blurt something out about anyone from here i say “summer program” too.
