Tasp 2007

Lol. Tako you got burned :-/

that one word thing as mighty annoying

yeah well my quiz average (without that 23. that was all lazyness. trust me.) is about a 102. unfortunately that 23 and my participation grade makes me have an 82 average in the class. I don’t understand why sleeping and staring out the window thinking about nothing related to math is considered not participating!

Haha Karen you’re silly :P

We don’t get participation in math, luckily. Well, we do, but all you have to do is put a few problems on the board and you’re set ;)

I read my lit book during math…East of Eden <3 Or I do other homework (sometimes math homework, oh my!). Yeah, my math class is basically my study hall period, ha ha.

haha a lot of my classes are study hall. That’s because the teacher just lectures for an hour and a half while we all fall asleep. Our classes are mostly self study. To bad i don’t like studying.

Lol. My day goes like this:

1st period: APUSH. I have to pay attention for fear of getting a low participation grade, which is worth more than our final.

2nd period: Chem. Varies. Our teacher is interesting, so unless I absolutely HAVE to do something, I’ll pay attention.

3rd period: Math. Study hall period. Nothing else to say.

4th period: French. UGGHH I wish I could do homework, but I sit in the front, and I don’t want her to yell at me. So usually I zone out, pretend to listen, and think about TASP. Yeah, TASP. Once I burst out laughing in the middle of class (thinking about some hilarious thing on this thread…don’t remember what, I think it was something from somebody’s interview :P) and everybody thought I was weird. Though I guess they think that anyway…

5th period: Lit. Love this class, so I pay attention :)

6th period: Journalism. Love this class too :)

Hehe. Then 7th period I hang out with my lit teacher, and after school I go to track practice.

So I really only have one study period :/

several people (including several of whom i had never met before) have said i look remarkably similar to sanjaya. i don’t see it that much. maybe a little. i got my hair cut, though, so any semblance of resemblance (ha.ha.) is probably gone now.

Gah there is no study hall-ing, sleeping, or ANYTHING of the sort in my math class. If she thinks you’re not paying attention to her lecture (which is delivered on a PowerPoint presentation, with ALL the lights turned off), she’ll call out, “JONATHAN!!! ARE YOU WITH ME?” [only half the time she gets the name of the kid wrong, in which case they don’t acknowledge her, and she thinks for SURE that they’re not paying attention] and then if you answer her, she’ll tell you not to argue with her. And then if you continue to sleep, she’ll make you stand up. XD.

Wow, poor little Lauren whimpering in the corner of her math class, scared to death of her teacher :P

hahaha, I swear I’m not (that) scared of her! Less that most people, probably.

YES.

I got my reply :)

YAY. No longer paranoid = me.

Edit: Oh, my, it says she sent it at 1:55 pm yesterday. And she sent a PS at 4:34. Yet I did not receive either of them until today.

I HATE MY EMAIL. RAWR. Perhaps I will switch to gmail, instead. I was freaking out for nothing, all because my email decided to delay those emails. GRR.

My day is ridiculously packed…

7:30 - scrape myself out of bed for assembly
7:40-7:50 - assembly, which is good for sleeping
7:50-12:00 - classes
12:30-1:20 - classes
1:20-2:10 - glee club meets/conference time
2:10-3:30 - handbells rehersal
3:35-5:15 - softball practice
5:30-6:00 - dinner
7:10-9:00 - required study hall
9:00-10:00 - because I don’t work during the first hour of study hall (can’t concentrate, utterly pathetic) I stay in the library and keep working
10:00-10:45 - watch TV in dorm parent’s apartment
11:00 - 2:00 AM - lights out? Haha, whut? Yeah, I stay up very late doing nothing. Reading…staring…

So that’s my day! =D

Aww tako, I thought you would. She probably just saved all our thank-you emails and replied to them at once. And you got a PS?? What did it say?? haha

You should definitely switch to gmail. It’s awesome.

Ah, well you know how we got into the discussion about what defines literature? She gave me a few reading recommendations for me to check out and get back to her if I ever happen to read them :)

Hey, what did her reply to your thank you letter say? Well, you don’t have to say if you don’t want to…I was just wondering :P

Actually, no. Don’t tell me, I’ll just overanalyze like crazy again and go insane. Yes. Shush. Say nothing.

Hi to everyone! I can’t believe I haven’t said anything in so long! And I’m not going back to read the past 30ish pages. :stuck_out_tongue: So have I missed anything interesting? How is everyone doing? Any interesting goings-on?

wow lauren your math teacher sounds like a *****. i feel like posting my schedule too. For some reason first marking period it looked kidna like iris’s (no time to do anything fun) but now i have toooo much free time on my hands (i should be using it to study for the sats…or any of my classes though. whatever)

hm…5:30-6:30- sit in bed staring at the tapestry about my bed, the posters and columbia lions all over my room, or my alarm clock
6:30-6:45- actually do something productive…i get ready
6:45~7:00- stare at my mailbox waiting for a yellow thing to appear behind it
7:00-9:00- bus and homeroom. This includes copying my homework and drinking lots of hot chocolate. sometimes i’ll walk to dunkin donuts and treat myself to a coffee instead. those are the exciting days. Other times I just sit there listening to my ipod, sleeping on the floor.
…hm i have no clue how to put this. I guess i’ll use my monday schedule since we have block scheduling.
9:00-9:45- Sit in math staring out the window or writing in my diary while my math teacher talks about cosmology and his days at princeton. Once in a while i’ll make a very cynical, wise ass remark though. I think he likes me only because of them for i see no other reason.
9:45-10:30- Die from boredom in chem. My teacher reads off his powerpoints in his monotone voice. Once in a while he’ll blow something up though, like Peeps or coffee tins.
10:30-11:00- just sit there. It’s way too early for lunch.
11:00-11:45- economics. It’s an online course so this becomes study hall. Once in a while i’ll go to the mall and eat a crunchwrap supreme while online at the apple store.
11:45-12:30- health/gym. This consists of anatomy and physiology rutgers style and hardcore gym class where we have to run/swin for an hour and a half.
12:30-2:00- engineering. Well, I’m leader of my group and we’re done with our project so we sit in the ITV room (full of imacs so we can go online) and watch movies on peekvid.
2:00-2:45- history. We listen to my really awesome teacher telling us about current events. that’s all
2:45-3:30- i actually pay attention here. It’s english so it’s really fun. Today i had to do a presentation on medieval theater so I made two people in the class have a sword fight. That was…interesting to say the least.
3:30-8:00- sit in my bed posting on CC and talking to people online
8:00-9:00- american idol or keith olbermann. I also eat and listen to my dad complain that my mom isn’t home from work yet.
9:00~3:00- sit in my bed posting on CC, reading the nytimes and washington post, searching random things on wikipedia, and talking to people online. Oh I watch movies too, if i feel like it. then sometimes, I’ll read.

P.S. sorry that this was so long! I always wanted to write a huge post. Plus, all i do from 3-8 is sit here. What else can i do?

Hey tako, at least you didn’t lose a girlfriend over the delay: http://www.networkworld.com/community/?q=node/14208

Thats a shame. ^^^^^^^

That is, indeed, a shame.

I pity the poor man. But honestly, I would think that he deserves better than that girlfriend…I mean, doesn’t she understand? I think she’s being a bit ridiculous.

Do you guys think we’ll be able to get our decisions the Monday after the weekend after next? I’m not quite sure I can take the wait anymore!

yup, the emails should be sent out on monday judging from last year’s thread! check your email after school and it should be there (they sent out mass emails according to which seminar you got into).

eeeeek.
