I googled my person and posted it on this thread. She found this thread, and then told me she found it but she reassured me that it was normal and that everybody does it, so she was cool :)

I’m scared for AP English Language too, TI! Except…

Today we went over sample essays, right? And there was one that was scored 8 (out of 9) and I gave it a 4 -_- so it shouldn’t be THAT bad.

Scared for multiple choice though ><

Chemistry final on thursday! But every time I start studying chemistry I think of TASP and cannot concentrate AT ALL (because second half of chemistry final is on MONDAY.)

Good luck to everyone for any SAT/ACT/AP/Final that’s coming up!

It’s totally weird and creepy to think of the TASP gods like… looking at this thread, or at people’s facebooks and myspaces. Haha even though we all basically did the same thing for our interviewers. But still…

anyone who goes to the cornell tasp: i’m visiting you. well actually my friends want to spend a week in ithica visiting the school and just hanging out (we heard most of the bars dont card :)) so it would be awesome to meet some of you. might as well if i’m up there anyway.

=( maybe i can convince them to take a trip to all the universities where TASPs are held. That would be amazing. I doubt my parents would ever go for it though.

yay! sorry columbia is easier to get to than cornell. Actually cornell isn’t that bad since my aunt lives right there. I can ride my cousins horses or take my quad over. that would be awesome.

i have a question: do your parents ever take your side? Mine never do and it ****es me of so much. No matter what i do it’s wrong and no matter what i say it’s illogical.

Mom: “Jenny, if you want to major in journalism, you should also do economics or management. Journalists make no money, but if you do management too you can be editor.”
Jenny: “Mmmhmmm…”

Dad: “How come you didn’t tell us you made editor in chief?”
Jenny: “Mmmm…mumbles some vague answer” while thinking “you know why I didn’t tell you? Because you don’t care. Oh sorry, you do care: about my college application!”

Mom: “You should look at Rice. They give good merit money, and it’s ranked 17th in Newsweek!”
Jenny: “Mmmmhmmm.”

Mom: “Teachers make no money.”
Jenny: Mmmmhmmm."

Yeah, everything’s about college lately, so I don’t even bother initiating conversation. It should get better next year, after acceptances are out and I’ve made my decision, hopefully.

edit - the whole thing about cornell < columbia was a joke. i’d be ecstatic to go to either, especially to attend a summer program at the former hint hint nudge nudge wink wink elbow elbow

oh yeah - indian parents are the same way (well, they’re asian too. so not too big of a surprise). EVEN THOUGH i want to major in poli sci/int’l relations, they still want me to do a science minor or something to keep the pre-med track open. while it makes sense to them, i have no idea why.

“i have a question: do your parents ever take your side? Mine never do and it ****es me of so much. No matter what i do it’s wrong and no matter what i say it’s illogical.”

Sounds like my parents sometimes. Unless they’re defending me against someone ELSE, I’m wrong. If I’m complaining about something, it’s MY fault. Betches.

LOL. Tsk, tsk, sidjenks. :P

SEE? TOLD YOU! MAY 1! Not before! Nyeh nyeh! XD

Black + Hispanic parents = traditionally more laid back. Woot.
