Karen, that SUCKS. RAWR. Give me your phone number and I’ll call up your parents and we’ll have a little chat ;)

haha thanks jenny! I think they’re just scared because they know rutgers is a party school and i want to room with a boy that goes there. I understand it from their perspective so I’m not going to have you do that

oh wait, i guess i shouldn’t have said anything there. I’m supposed to be dead right? Lets make this like in mafia. Nate, how did you kill me? Was it by sending a whole bunch of ninja monkies to attack me while I was walking through the forest at 1 AM. (I’ve used that one before. don’t ask where it came from)

Ink why did you have to move from my town?

Yeah, ink. Gosh.

And Karen, you’re dead?
Don’t die…I’ll be sad.

But honestly, how could you go off and kill Karen?

Now I’ll have to buy flowers, ugh. That’s like 15 bucks down the drain. Plus another like 20 for shipping.

Thanks, Nate, thanks. Wasting 35 precious bucks of mine.

My mom asks me on a daily basis about you Aida. She wonders when I am going to meet you. I want to be like, when are you flying me to puerto rico?

[coughs more Michigan]

wow, how creepy, cor. your mommy knows aida? well, that’s okay, i think my mom went on the computer once and aida’s messages about *****es was on my facebook wall and my mom saw it.

but god, aida, come to michigan. for cereals.

I realized Im going to Upstate new york briefly to visit friends after TASS. And to fly from Detroit to New York is the same/ more expensive then flying down to Puerto Rico.

I really want to go. I say Susan and I will visit you in PR

Inkspill- have you checked out our future profs yet? Google “Bob Hansman”. Wow.

Okay, I admit it. The thread is dead. Dead thread.

Okay, I have some questions now (not that I expect answers from this dead, dead thread):

hmm, i can try to answer a couple.

i just got the letter yesterday and it said we’re getting forms that have to be filled by the 31rst (if i remember correctly) and our factota will be contacting us in the next couple of weeks. so i’m guessing the packet with all the stuff we have to bring, information on transportation and pubspeaks etc will come later with the factota mailing.

inky said that the washu TASP lives in a dorm, but they might change it this year.

i think so. laptops aren’t necessary, i was told, but helpful.

Will our acceptance letters contain packing lists and the like, or does that come later?
–You’ll get some forms soon (insurance stuffs, doctor stuffs, maybe packing list, etc.) and some later (greeting from factota, other reminders.)

I’m guessing our factota probably read our essays before meeting us, but do our professors?
–Yes, and yes, though neither the factota or the professors will remember much or connect you to your essays because there are so many essays (16-18 students…multiple essays each.) I remember that the professors for sure didn’t connect us to our essays, and our factota only remembered bits and pieces, or general impressions. They probably won’t judge you on them.

I thought this was mentioned before, but I searched the thread to no avail, so: what exactly are the WashU accommodations like (location, how many to a room, computer access)?
–If it’s the same as last year (and it might not be, because a lot of WashU TASPers wrote in later evaluations that dorms are not conducive to community living) then you’ll live in dorms, two to a room, four to a suite (two rooms in a suite, sharing a connecting bathroom). There’s a computer lab in the dorm and in the WashU libraries. Your factota will tell you all you need to know about living conditions before you leave.

If you don’t own a laptop and are prone to typing/revising papers at the last minute, are the computer labs open late?
–There’s a computer lab in the dorm open 24/7, though from my experience they got REALLY full the night before a paper was due. I didn’t have a laptop and it worked fine, but I did make it a point to start papers at least a couple days before they were due.
