Tasp 2007

Yes! Got my letter today :D

Me too!

Dude, today was possibly the best mail day of my life.

You know how a while ago I was debating writing to Adobe to ask for free stuff…well MY FRIEND AND I DID.

And today in the mail came a free copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 (retail value $649!) And she got one too  And they sent me a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS3 for the Mac (for our school) :open_mouth: That’s worth almost two thousand dollars!

Amazing. I love my mail today  Ithaca and NYU mail too, I wonder if it’s a sign that I should apply to those schools :P

Btw, we’re doing better than the RSI thread. They haven’t posted anything in nearly a month. ;)

lol you guys have to write papers and ****
i won in the end

edit: holy ****, i just got back from work, I’m taking the SAT 8.5 hours and i havent started studying yet
study vs sleep, study vs sleep, aghaghaghagh

guess I’ll just write a practice essay or two and then wing the rest of it…

Oh wow, tako! That sounds amazing. What on Earth did you write for Adobe to give you those stuff? O_O

My mail story: went to my mail box, opened it to see this HUGE package, thought it was from TASP, got really excited, found out shortly that it was an Ad for a college, proceeded to shift through my mail, found the thin envelope with “Telluride Association” on top, and thought, “Gee… if I didn’t know already, I would have thought I was rejected.” Feeling of elated joy. The end. :D

Oh, we spent a really long time making our letter amazing, and we included some samples from our newspaper and did loads of praise and everything and yay!

But yeah, that little letter, it was like…oh, did I get rejected and they just told me wrong?

Good for you tako, for giving your school the Adobe stuff! lol, I’m sure they don’t do that often. ;)

The letter was kind of scary, actually. TASP was (IS!) too good to be true, and so I thought it was entirely possible (albeit cruel) to have received a rejection letter (with Ms. Baer telling me belatedly that she sent the wrong e-mail.) Good thing that didn’t happen. lol

Thanks for the question help, roam and bre.

Yeppers, it was super scary.

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE PACKAGE. Two packages, actually. One for forms and one from the factota!

Excitement!

SAT IIs in an hour and a half…uh oh, I was supposed to wake up at 2 to study this morning and got up at 5 instead! 3 hours of precious studying time lost! I’m going to fail!

Whatever, I got into TASP. Who cares about college? :D

Wait…so should we be scheduling a physical examination now? or until the package arrives?

:O We need a physical examination? O_o

Uh, yeah, I totally only read the first half of my letter :P

I would say…now, and make it in a week or two. I imagine they sent the package a day or two after, so we should get them today or Monday. Tuesday-Wednesday latest?

Tako, hope you did well on your SAT IIs!

Just got back from the SAT IIs…yuck.

In other, more exiting news - I scheduled my physical yesterday AND booked flight tickets to St. Louis!!!. Under normal circumstances, these mundane activites wouldn’t be classified as exciting, but considering they are for TASP, they pretty much made my day!!! Gahhh, even the simplest little TASP-related things make me happy.
dorky smile

I already got the full packet. Its addressed to your parents/guardian and its mostly just rules and regulation/medical consent forms.

gah
SAT’s
I think i got one question wrong and a subscore of 4 on the Writing…yeah it was that bad, it might actually be a 2 or 3
other than that it was all good tho

****BUCKET
“A college will be able to view and print a copy of your essay only if you sent an official score report to that college.”
GREAAAT

Yuck.

I just got back from SAT IIs too.

Grossness.

I can’t wait for mail today though! I wonder what I’ll get…

Ugh my parents are being gross.

My dad went to a college fair, and now all they’re talking about is college. Especially about University of Michigan since I’m going there :stuck_out_tongue: Which I’ve gotten used to.

BUT they seem to think that I’m highly interested in business and it’s like W.T.F how many times have we been over this? And they keep saying things like, “Berkeley is a really good business school” and “Does UMich have a good business program?”

And I’m just like…AHHHHHHHH shush. Oh and they told me to write to Bill Gates and ask him for money and promise to be his CFO after I graduate from college. But uh, finance doesn’t interest me at all? And I’ve told them this before too?

I have never given an affirmative, yes, business sounds fascinating! Yet now that’s all they talk about -_- I’ve told my mother that I want to major in English, and she always just blows me off…let me decide my own future, gosh dang it!

Yes, I just wanted to rant.

Oh tako!

Though if you don’t mind, I actually find that kind of funny because if I hypothetically wanted to be a writer, my dad will disown me and pretend I don’t exist for the rest of my life (like the father in those sad movies who will never approve of his son/daughter!) :D

Thankfully, my interests matched up pretty well to what my parents wanted so it saved A LOT of trouble for me. I can only imagine what my dad in particular would have said if I decided to go along with (my rather infantile dream of) being a news anchorwoman. LOL. My dad would have a heart attack.

I agree that it’s your future and you should be the one to decide, no matter what your parents want! (They shouldn’t, and can’t, vicariously live through you.)
