Tasp 2007

Well, I just thought I’d give an update, since I’ve been gone (and will leave again after this post, lol).

I got my national merit packet the other day, so I sent that out (yay!) and the library wants me back, so I’ll go work there again. Jewelry is also on the horizon, and I was tapped as an art editor for my school’s literary magazine! Oh, and my crazy roommate moved out so now I have a gigantic single. Is there anything else?..hm…oh, my parents moved into our new apartment in NYC, so now I am officially a city kid! Yaaay.

Next year I’m taking four APs (English, Euro, Drawing, BS Calc) and Spanish. Oh, and I got two RBI in today’s softball game. See, life goes on for TRASPers!

haaa it’s been a while.

so i was kinda outta the loop for a couple months but i guess i’m back? not that i have much to say since i got cut first round. :p

but wow. 415 pages? >.<

I GOT THE PACKET!!

Love. National merit packet? What’s that? :open_mouth: Do I get one? This sounds so scandolous! :D

I need to send in that whole two college thing soon…

iris- You live in NY now? AWESOME!! want to do something once? i’ve heard the new performance of romeo and juliet at the ballet is fantastic. i have a passion for shakespeare. =)

eats cake
glances around
walks off

Hey Abby… Nate… Karen
good to hear from y’all again

I want cake, sounds delicious. I had a Red Gummi jamba juice today, it tasted like melted push up ice cream bars… I prefer White Gummi

OMG AIDA. I have a hilarious story to tell you!

So my parents were like, YEAH WE DON’T TRUST THIS TASP. And they kept prying and whatnot and were like, we’re going to call them up and make sure they’re a legitimate organization.

So I was like, yeah, go ahead, I mean TASP has only been happening for like 50 years.

Then they deliberated and were like, well if we call them they’ll pretend that they’re real, of course. So they asked if they could call somebody who’s attended the program before.

And of course, I think of you! So I’m like sure, you can call up Aida and ask her. Yeah, I met her online. Yeah, she went to the program.

AND THEN, OMG! They’re like, but maybe this Aida person is somebody that this TASP has set up too?

And I could NOT stop LAUGHING. OMG. I was like, YEAH so basically she’s spent half her life this year on this thread, then calls me to congratulate me, then gets a facebook and of course, pays other people to post on her wall about TASP, and posts on my thread and makes all these friends and spends all this time on making people fall for this SCAM.

It was just HILARIOUS. Haha. Now my parents think I’m weird, though I guess they’ve always thought that :P

HAHAHAHAHAHA. talk about neurotic parents. how could they not trust TASP?! did they see the website, at least?

just show them the pictures! d’oh! pictorial evidence is better than nothing. just leave out the emo/goth day pictures, the drag pictures, the TASP swimsuit edition pictures, and… the toga pictures? i don’t see what’s wrong with togas, but just to be safe, i guess.

Lol So Grace’s pictures of the house. :-P

For parents who are crazyish about college, why dont you just tell them where all the past members are going. You got about a dozen Harvards just from 06

Oh, they’re not concerned about whether or not TASP is a PRESTIGIOUS program. They’re questioning whether or not it exists :P

How funny my parents are sometimes.

Chem AP tomorrow! Strangely enough, I’ve stopped caring about school. Meaning…I don’t do anything anymore. Lol. Okay time to whip myself back into academic shape!

Go Jenny!
Our AP Bio teacher is amazing, besides his racial profiling of me in his Chem Honors class.
The essay for the AP exam was nearly identical to one he gave them 2 weeks ago and they had gone over it together in class as a review for the test. Not to mention he got everyone Jamba Juice. He can be really chill and he likes to make fun of students, if he wasnt such a good teacher (Most kids get 5s on their tests) he would definitely be kicked out because of his controversial nature. Tenure is a beautiful thing.

I got this awesome mailer from UChicago today. It has Ikea, Abba and the Nobel prize on it…They are all swedish :stuck_out_tongue:
Then inside it asks you to send in a “micro” essay. And the prompt was in Japanese XD

Im so excited to visit right before TASS :]

“I’m glowing like a giant sun in my livingroom.” - Freaking awesome mental image, lol. Onegood, if you don’t get in at Brown, you’re welcome to stop by my place in your quest to harass the administration and deans of admission til’ they let you in. :P

Iris, I was reading “Prep” the other day and I couldn’t stop being reminded of you because of the whole boarding school thing. XD

ROTFLMAO!!! JENNY!!! dies There are no words.

OH! OH! I dreamt about TASP yesterday or the day before!! I dreamt that it began on May something and that you guys were calling me to tell me the dates had been changed. Either that or I found out and called YOU saying “Omg double-yoo-tee-eff! What is this?! When I went to TASP, it began in late June! What the–?!” I talked to Susan, Corey, and Jenny…and I saw, but didn’t speak with, others, too. I just know I was freaked out and OMGTHEDATESCHANGED!?!

Go National Merit Scholarship! I got it. An extra $2,500 for college? Why, yes, yes I’ll accept that, sir.

Yayy Aida got more money, wootness.

Hehe. I wish TASP started in May. That would be the BOMB. You know, Aida, I still have yet to call you back. Well, I did. But YOU DON’T HAVE AN ANSWERING MACHINE. So I can’t leave you a message, and it makes me sad :(

CHEM AP IN ONE HOUR :O. Ehh whatevs~ Hehe I said I’d whip myself into academic shape and instead I went to sleep ^^

And Corey, your biology teacher sounds HAWT. My AP Chemistry teacher is giving us food like bagels and donuts, off to which I shall go and get some right now! :D

Well I DO have another phone number–my house phone! Check my Facebook profile; it’s there. Ignore the Spanish-ness, just leave a message!

XOMZGSCHEM!!

yessssss
I’ll be interning with congressman Lantos on capitol hill this summer!!!
sweeeeeeeeet

It seems that everyone around me is participating in some awesome thing this summer, nates got his internship, you all have tasp, half of the girls in my grade are going on people to people (even though i doubt they can afford it), the sophomores are all going to harvard, columbia, or stanford, my best friends are going to gov school, one guy is going to promys, and my old best friend is going to RSI. sigh anyone know of anything i can do at princeton thats’s still open?

Ahh, thanks Aida. Congrats on the scholarship, by the way. I’m fully jealous–I always score a cut below the best on those testamagiggers.

Anyone have advice on how to stay focused on school/finals/10th level of hell in the midnight hour of one’s junior year? Jenny? Susan? Anyone? I could really use some help here. Or…I could drop out and spend the rest of my life loafing my way around the world and being a professional international bum (like most writers). Or I could get a job at Mc Donald’s in Morocco. Or take a job as a farm hand in rural Nebraska. (They have farms there right?) Or…I could just figure out how to pass finals without passing out from sheer exhaustion. Or not. Or so. Or not. I’m on the fence about this one.

That’s fabulous about the internship, Nate. Yes. I am congratulating you even though you don’t know me. Is that weird? I’m new to this whole internet-friendship thing. (Should I be embarassed about that?)

Definitely. And maybe learn some Portuguese, too. ^^ Thanks, hehe. I totally read “testmagigglers”. XD

I HAVE A HEADACHEEE!!! Gladngoa;sgsa.

Ooh a DC intern, I shall warn you. You will learn more than you ever want to know about the Captiol building, you will spend so much time giving tours. :]

onegoodgirl, are you on facebook?

ech, giving tours
still the main part for me is that I wont see my parents for almost 2 months
hopefully i’ll find someone chill to room with too jabs andrew…parrrtaayyy
