Tasp 2007

i think i’m bringing around $200 and a debit card. the 05 UMickers said the in-house chef was stupendous, but one of the 06’ers said their chef last year was ehhh and somewhat emotionally unstable… if that’s the case, i’ll probably be buying food. a lot. LOL

I, uh, dislike math. Which is why I don’t even want to take it :D

I brought about $100 in cash and an ATM card. I really didn’t spend more than $200 dollars.

Also think about depending where you are from you will need extra money to buy necessities and for travel costs.

If you bring a 100 bucks, you may end up blowing half of it just on a cab ride (For the Mickers-- Detroit to Ann Arbor is 70$ in a shuttle and you split it 2 ways)
Then if you are flying you cant bring a fan or laundry detergent (you could share though) and the fan I have heard is a must.

Luckily for us TASSers our factota are picking us up :-)

HA. Guess they think sophomores can’t take care of themselves ;)

Oh Snap.

Oh No You Didn’t

But I wont take that offensively since I know very well I can use mass transit and I have been doing my own laundry since I was 6 (Woah I never really thought of it as I have been doing my own laundry the majority of my life-- My parents hate me)

Oh snap. Oh yes I did.

Haha awww poor Corey. I don’t do my own laundry :stuck_out_tongue: BUT I am forced to clean the house, do the dishes, vacuum, take out the trash, all that good stuff. So I figure my mom can do the laundry :)

Hmmm. I do all the above as well. Jenny is a spoiled brat, spoiled brat. JP JP

Spoiled is all these kids driving BMWs Lexi (plural of lexus) Infinitis and other cars nicer than my dads. Oh how this world works.

I am a spoiled brat, probably. And omg I saw this HUGE bug in my room and then I ran out (wanting to screaming, but everybody was asleep). Then when I ventured back in it was GONE.

I’m scared to death now; I’m afraid it’s going to randomly pop out and kill me. (It was like a bee…but a little bigger and flying and making LOUD buzzing noises).

I’m so scared. I need to sleep and hide under the covers and try and forget that I ever saw it. Good night.

Lol. Yesterday we were driving down the road and this black and red beetle looking bug just pops up out of nowhere and the girl who was driving freaked and screamed. But she was so spooked, the road was curving to the left but she jerked the wheel to the right… We were going at about a 75’ angle to the road. Scary stuff. At least there were no cars around.

So then we stopped at west valley college so I could remove the bug but by then it got in the crack of the gear shifter so I had to keep switching the gear the car was in trying to get this bug to fly out. Finally it got out and I killed it (Some bugs just cant be returned to the wild :-/) And then we went on with our day.

What I really hate is after something like that happens you become all subconsciously scared of everything. Like your shoelace brushes your leg and you think it is the bug and you freak. But I hate how you know the bug was there for a lot longer then you knew it was there, but, if you don’t know about it you are completely fine.

Same with mosquito bites… They don’t itch until you look at it. strange things.

On the note of mosquitoes, so I went to this girls house for her birthday today and there were quite a few mosquitoes and someone asked if they had a citronella candle. Well they didn’t because it causes cancer, and then I totally said with out even realizing… “Well I hope none of us get West Nile or Malaria or something, that wouldn’t be fun.” Her mom was less than thrilled.

HAHA tako. actually corey, it’s 45 for the shuttle and we can split it four or five ways. =)

Don’t worry, Sheep. My piano skills, for one, are quite deplorable.

:O)

Awww, bugs/beetles aren’t too bad. Our old apartment was infested with these giant, ugly Chinese cockroaches that would get inside microwaves, beds, you name it. (shudders)

Oh, and just the other day I spied this huuuuuge black snake creeping around in the backyard, masquerading as a twig. And I was about to pick it up, too…

Im pretty sure that website said 45 bucks a person and I was like What?!?!

Oh my goodness, speaking of bugs, I had this moth-looking insect in my room the day before yesterday and it was making rather loud fluttering sounds after I went to sleep. I got annoyed and turned the light on. The bug, for reasons still unknown to me, just went NUTS. Like it went zigzagging through the room and bumped into all my walls and just went super-high speed (for a bug) across my room and I was like :open_mouth: the whole time.

…And then it bumped into a wall and suddenly died. …yeah… it was WEIRD. Was it the light, I wonder? :S

You killed an innocent insect.

Shun the non-believer.

Okay. Shun Mintie, shun Mintie.

And dae, I don’t know how you could stand cockroaches. They are the one bug I absolutely hate the most. SO GROSS. Snakes are cool, even bees are cool (unless they are in my room, in which case they are a little scary), mosquitoes are cool, ants are cool, spiders are cool (unless they’re huge), but cockroaches? No. No. They scare me to the death.

Hey tako, is there a way to make a sticky thread? (As in the ones with the IMPORTANT: _________ thing next to them?)

I found some information that I think would be beneficial to people applying to summer program/finding summer internships next year and I think it’ll do a lot of good if it can stay on the front page.

I’m willing to compile the threads together and make a gigantic summer program/internship opportunity thread (with TASP at the front, of course. lol ;))

…or other people can do it, if they want. XD

And Corey, LOL.

Hehe I’ll go ahead and recommend it to be a sticky  As News Editor I do have some level of power…hopefully soon I’ll be able to sticky it myself! Eee!

And that sounds like a great idea :)

Awesome, I’ll do that right now, titled “Consolidated List of Summer Programs/Internships”
