@shikinami i wrote my second essay on this really insightful article i found that elaborated upon why many poor people buy luxury goods, much to the chagrin of the middle class, who asks itself “why would you buy this if you’re short on money in the first place?” and the answer is simple, but one that i don’t think most people (including myself, despite my parents doing the same!) consider: to look as if you’re of a higher class and thus get access to more resources than you would without sacrificing resources to emulate the dress of a higher class.
also. if notifications really are going out today. i’m terrified. if anyone gets something, please write saying you do. i have no idea if they’re going out based on location or if they’re acceptances/rejected or what (although i assume the former since nobody has said anything about receiving an email here).

i believe they’re coming out based on time zone. cst got their decisions out at ~3:50 last year, est at ~4:00, but we might be in for a longer wait
(i keep getting emails from ithaca college…not the best time to get this type of email! i jump every time)
