TASP 2019

I just called them, they said the latest we could expect results is the end of the day tomorrow

Dang. That’s crazy that they aren’t even sure if they are gonna send them out today or tomorrow yet.

ok i really want to get my mind off the waiting, so lets talk! what did you guys rank as your top seminars? my favorite one was for sure the freedom summer one haha

@brokenclocks I also ranked freedom summer as my first choice, though I originally had ranked the Cornell 1 seminar that got removed as my first choice. I thought the replacement seminar was pretty interesting though as well, so I ranked it second.

how is everyone feeling?

My favorites were definitely Poetry and Identity and Constructing Gender in Japanese Popular Culture! I’m a poet and much of my academic/research work regards destabilizing and undoing gender, although I probably know less about manga and anime than some of the other applicants.

@lux yygs is so short though…

@nomorecoll96 Yeah, but I believe it does conflict and I don’t have much else lined up

@rjscholar i think we are the same person because that is exactly what my process was when choosing seminars and my final choices. i really did like the old cornell seminar the best, it sucks that they removed it

just got the email- im an alternate :/.

my last post here: i’ll be seeing some of you at maryland this summer!

I just got the email, and I’ve been accepted for the Negative Capability seminar at Cornell. This gives me a lot of relief! It was pretty tense waiting for so long.

Just got the email. I’m so excited to see some of y’all at Michigan!!! <3

maryland!

Cornell- negative capability :)))

My last post here as well—I’m so excited to meet y’all at the University of Michigan this summer!!! To those of you who will be at Cornell, I recommend checking out Gimme Coffee, Press Cafe, the local independent bookstore Buffalo Street Books, and the performance of Kinky Boots at the Hangar Theatre! (Fellow vegans: check out Nikki Green, Ten Forward, and Chatty Cathy Cafe. You’re welcome! )

alternate which means more waiting :frowning:

I’m headed to Negative Capability at Cornell this summer! Hope to see some of you there.

What did they say exactly about the alternate? Is this for TASP or TASS?

@poppy2002
Tasp email:
“We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as an alternate for the 2019 Telluride Association Summer Programs. Your application and interview have distinguished you as one of the strongest candidates in an extremely competitive year for the program–with 120 interviewees from over 1,500 applicants for only 60 spots. Should some of the students appointed to the program be unable to accept, you will be notified by phone and offered a position. We hope to be able to tell you by May 13 if a position in one of the TASP seminars becomes available for you.”

thats the first paragraph
