You need to be chosen to attend such programs like TASP. How are you chosen? (it’s never been introduced in my school).

You are sent an application based on a high PSAT score or a recommendation by a teacher he/she sends out in the fall. You can also request one on the internet.
Are you interested in applying for next summer?

Does it matter who recommends you? My daughter will be able to choose between two good recommendations- one from her high school history teacher and another from a university teacher (at one of the ivies) that she has gotten to know for two years. thanks if there’s an opinion out there. Maybe it doesn’t matter.

i think it has to be a high school teacher.

You don’t need to be recommended for TASP. I’m sure I received a brochure from them due to my PSAT score, but I applied via their online application which is open to all students, regardless of whether or not you were nominated. Nomination just allows Telluride to distribute information to talented students who may not otherwise have heard of the program. Best of luck to you (if you’re applying next year)! :]
