Taxis around ColumbiaU

I’m planning on going to Columbia for a lecture in a couple of weeks that ends quite late. I was wondering if it’s easy to find taxis around Columbia at night? Like probably around 10. I’ll need a taxi to go down to Greenwich Village.

Yes, it’s very easy to find a taxi at that hour. It’s New York City, after all!

you can find a taxi almost anywhere in nyc (the really bad parts excluded) at any time

I dunno guys. The city kinda dies after 8 PM. Good luck with that taxi!

Absolutely no problem finding a cab at 10:00 around Columbia.

The city DIES at 8 PM? I lived in New York City for 7 years!!

Oh, absolutely. I am currently living in a corpse of a city, one that awakens for a brief interval of life 7 PM - 8, on Wednesdays. It is during this interval that taxis are easy to come by. Many take advantage of this opportunity to flee to the beckoning lights of Jersey.

(How dense are we on this board?)

I think your response the first time seemed too serious for me to be able to detect sarcasm.

^nyc dies around 8!!! and you couldn’t detect sarcasm!?! wow.

Always easy to get a taxi. Unless it’s raining.

No I just detected plain stupidity which was quite obviously wrong.

^in yourself? :stuck_out_tongue: sorry had to add that ;).

No, plain stupidity in a hypothetical person who thought that NYC dies after 8 PM.

Maybe you should keep those snide personal attacks to yourself, they might come in handy when people call you that.

^owww, feelings hurt now? i’m sorry…

^Case in point.

Yep, I was going to say raining. Or a part of town where nobody’s getting OUT of a cab and everyone is looking to get IN a cab, e.g., midtown in the early evening.

very easy on broadway, less easy on amsterdam and farther east.
