Taylor Swift (and that guy) Wedding

If you are referring to a widely circulated photo of her, look at it again. She is in a jacket and black sweater. Clearly not taken recently.

LOL - “Though The Times doesn’t plan to have anyone inside the arena on Friday — it’s possible our invitations simply got lost in the mail — reporters will deliver plenty of dispatches after the event, as Ms. Swift and Mr. Kelce’s friends potentially head out to spots around the city to celebrate the couple.”

It does sound like they were legally married before the big event. That is not uncommon, and many who do that still have wedding ceremonies when they have a reception later. It’s different, but not weird.

Looking at the picture of Taylor & Travis’s mom in the article above, I can’t help but think that it must feel strange to be photographed next to someone like Taylor Swidt, who is so often highly styled, when you seem like a regular old mom. :slightly_smiling_face:

My own D was legally married before her destination wedding. So she had 2 weddings. One a small family one and the other on the beach.

My niece had a courthouse wedding during covid so she and her fiancée could have that weighed into his deployment. She was going to have a bigger wedding & reception later but covid stopped that celebration. She was going to try again to have a nice reception/party but by then they had a baby so it turned into a wedding belated baby shower.

Her brother and his fiancée had planned a fabulous wedding but covid put the brakes on that. They eventually rescheduled and had it several years later and it was lovely, even if FOG was somewhat under the weather. Nephew would have just canceled but they had already paid so much in deposits and bride wanted it so they went ahead.

It’s fine to me—whatever makes the couple happy.

This NYT wedding announcement done for fun in NYT style is most interesting for the facts about their mother’s careers.

I bet that’s right. Zoe Kravitz’s plus one is the only “no” I’m sure about. Lol. …..that would be her fiancée and Taylor’s ex Harry Styles. He was on tour.

Serena Williams would have had to decline if she hadn’t tweaked her knee and had to pull out of her sponsor’s exemption at Wimbledon.

@toledo -we did this for our prom eons ago. The decorations were done by the students and it really was transformed into a beautiful space.

Along the way, NYC and MSG got a lot of free advertising to potential tourists.

I’m not sure either needed free advertising…

I have to add, I’m still very happy for this couple. I do wish they would release just ONE wedding photo!

I dont think that this was the main advertisement for NYC or MSG this summer. Knicks championship, World Cup, Tall boats, it has been a summer for NYC!

There was an outdoor wedding this past weekend for one of the KC Chief players.

That poor wedding! In their zeal to get pictures of TS and TC, it looked to me that they had either drones or helicopters overhead.

I think an indoor arena makes more and more sense. That way all the attendees got to relax without being on display.

Or they can just pull a Tom Holland/Zendaya, who got married without anyone knowing, despite being A-listers.

That was JuJu Smith-Schuster’s wedding. I also feel bad for the couple because if T&T hadn’t been in attendance, the media probably would have left them completely alone.
