TCNJ or Seton Hall for Psychology?

Hi,

I was accepted to both schools and am in state in NJ. Seton Hall offered me a $23,000 scholarship. Which school has the better program? I know I can get a masters in five years at SHU but TCNJ’s Psych program is also very good. Thoughts?

TCNJ is safer than Seton Hall and is a good school with a nice campus. Seton Hall is more urban but the masters in five years with the scholarship is hard to resist. How affordable is TCNJ for you?

Honestly, they are both affordable. With the SHU money it brings it down a few $ less than TCNJ (didn’t get any merit money).

Then I think it’s a personal preference. Talk to students or professors in the department to get an idea of the quality of the program. SHU offers more DEGREES within psychology such as masters, minors, certificates, dual degrees etc. TCNJ has a lot of specializations within the psych major and has a double major (Psych and education). Plus TCNJ has ELOPsy. (http://psychology.tcnj.edu/elopsy-overview/)

TCNJ is way better in my opinion. As long as it is not a financial burden, go with TCNJ.

Seton Hll ranked #331 overall vs TCNJ ranked #168 (and rising) overall.
