TCU in the Summer

Aside from it being hotter than Hades, any negatives to visiting in the summer? D26 does a fall sport and is therefore not allowed to travel between mid-August and mid-December. We are in the Northeast, so getting to TX for a weekend is hard during the school year. I have time this summer and so does she so we are thinking of visiting right after July 4th weekend. She is interested in nursing and I see they have a week long nursing camp/program for high school students so it seems there will be things going on on the campus. I just want to make sure we are not arriving to a ghost town of a campus. Thoughts?

They have some kind of Frog Camp (new student orientation) on various weeks in the summer. I think if you could find out what day they tour the new students around, you could get the vibe of the sort of students that attend TCU to see students walking around (and parents). The surrounding area is a bit quieter than during the school year. I think a summer visit, and then one more visit as an admitted student in the Spring of Senior year, would give you a decent impression.
