Hi! I’m a high school senior, and I’m a second year Teacher Cadet in South Carolina. My first year, last year, was the big, three hour-dual-credit class with college credit. This year, I was selected by my TC teacher to be in the second class, which consists of 6 students including me. Highly selective. I have a 3.75 GPA (SC grading scale). I’m also 181 out of 375 students. I’m involved in several extracurricular activities, including Girl Scouts, where I recently completed my Gold Award project. My essay, with help from my TC teacher, is well-written and explains why I want to be a teacher perfectly. I want to become a high school English teacher. The lowest grade on my transcript is an 80 (mid-C).

Everything sounds good, but here is the problem: I made an 870 (without writing) on my SAT the first time. With writing, I made a 1410. I took it a second time on Saturday, but I fell like I did better the first time. What are my chances of getting into Winthrop University with a low SAT score?
