<p>I had a teacher write 7 teacher recs for me (really one rec, but filled out 7 forms). Is a $50 gift certificate enough?</p>

<p>HANDWRITTEN note and a batch of homemade coookies or brownies. If you really want to show your appreciation ask if there is any filing, grading or paperwork you can help him/her with.</p>
<p>Another question: when’s the best time to give them the gift? Before the rec deadline, after it, right after you ask them to write it, etc.?</p>
