I recently had a teacher fill out and send in a teacher evaluation form for Stanford. She made a copy of her recommendation letter for me to read, and it was perfect. But when I looked a little closer I noticed it said “To: Harvard Admissions Board”. Apparently she had gotten confused as to which school I was applying to and accidently inserted Harvard into the heading as well as reffered to it in the last paragraph. Is there anything I can do?? That can’t look good to the Stanford admissions office…

maybe you can have your counselor send it in again, but attach a letter saying sorry for sending the wrong letter to stanford and she had just made a mistake. If it’s her mistake, it cannot really jeopardize you. The only thing is that Stanford will now know or think that you’re also applying to harvard which might affect your admissions (if they think harvard will admit you and you would go to harvard, they might save a spot for someone else in their applicant pool…)

just my personal thinking…i don’t know this for sure, but definitely have your counselor either call or send a written letter apologizing for mistake.
