Teacher Recs

I’m about to give my teachers my resume in a manilla folder with a note attached… Is this a good idea?

These recs are for a summer program btw.

Also, what teachers would be ideal? I’m thinking:

PreCalc teacher; I ace that class. I stay after school every now and then. We’re not “buddy-buddy” and we only have very short conversations. Usually about courses and school stuff.

Photojournalism teacher; Graduated from UVA, also teaches German but I’m not in German. I tend to do other work in that class besides working on the yearbook. And sadly, she knows that very well. Of course, that class is an easy A.

AP Language teacher; I tend to have trouble in her class. I somehow end up with a range of an A to a B+ in her class though. However, analytical stuff is not my strong point. I think she thinks I’m simple minded and uninteresting. She DID help me in writing my governor’s school statement in the beginning of the year and I made her a cupcake as a thank you.

Please help! Pressed for time!
Thanks!

I would go for your PreCal teacher and AP English teacher. Some teachers, like your photojournalism teacher, dont like when students work on other things, but they dont mention their disapproval to the student. PreCal is a challenging high school subject for most, so the PreCal teacher will give a quality recommendation. Your AP teacher has helped you once, so I think she will be happy to help you again. Hope that helps somewhat.

Pick the one(s) that are best at writing recommendations. They don’t have to 100% like you to be good at making you look awesome.

wait I have one more teacher to add to this list:

PreAP English; he is a very sophisticated man, graduated from an Ivy League, but he isn’t snooty. i had him last year and i learned a lot from him. he never puts anything on his wall. the only thing he has on his wall is my poster that i drew, and according to my friends, he still has it up. i haven’t talked to him since last year, in fact, i’ve walked past him in the hallways, feeling awkward about saying hi to a past teacher.

should i ask him for my rec…?
