I am just wondering if it’s OKAY to say I have mental illness, like will I get rejected by saying that???</p>

<p>It is illegal to discriminate on the basis of a disability, including mental illness or chemical dependency, but that doesn’t mean that colleges won’t do it. I’m surprised that the teacher did that; I would have said that discussing an issue like depression would be best left to you and your counselor. </p>
