Teaching Awards

Hey, CCers! I hope you are all enjoying summer.

Having recently graduated from high school, I suppose I’m inclined to reminisce and look back on my education and the past 18 years of my life as a whole. In doing so, there is one teacher in particular who stands out in my mind. I’m headed to Yale next year, and I certainly could not have done it without her. I know that sounds cheesy, but it’s true. Yale recently sent an email about nominating teachers for a Yale teaching award, and I’m nominating the aforementioned teacher.

I feel VERY strongly about this teacher. She’s one of those people who merits all the recognition in the world but rarely receives any. I was wondering if any of you were aware of noteworthy teaching awards for which I could nominate this teacher. Ideally, I would like to nominate her for a prestigious award but honestly, I want to know about them all. I’m having trouble finding legit. material on teaching awards. I would GREATLY appreciate if any of you could shed some light on this or direct me to something that may help. Thanks a ton!

PS-For what it’s worth, she was my 8th-12th grade Latin teacher, and I’m considering majoring in Latin at Yale.

Teaching awards are a joke. For a majority of them the teacher nominates themselves.
