Teaching Methods

I go to a community college near my school right now. After attending for a few weeks now I noticed teachers doing things I had imagined, based on what I’ve heard about college, to seem unusual. My american history teacher, for example, has handed out a pool of questions he is going to pull our exam from. Is this common in a college course? Or is it the because I’m at a community college that classes are molded to be easier on the students?

Different teachers, different styles. Some CC courses will be as rigorous as their university counterparts. Especially introduction-to-the-major type courses, since students who transfer need to be prepared. I’m guessing this is a dead-end course that most students take to fulfill general education requirements? If so, you’re probably right that this instructor wants to get as many students through as possible.
