<p>Can anyone answer a few of my technology questions thats more familiar with the school and rules and stuff (the thing on Blackboard was REALLY broad)?

  1. How common is it to carry and use a laptop in class?
  2. I know its against the rules to torrent/download pirated/cracked/illegal content (particularly the OS, office tools, media editting, etc.), but is it against the rules to USE/INSTALL such content? (ie. I download using a private internet service provider, but install on my comp and later use that comp on Emory’s network?
  3. Is is against school rules to stream pirated/illegal content on Emory’s network? (For instance, Googling “watch Transformers 2 online,” and watching it from a divx someone else posted)</p>

  1. Very common, but I don’t recommend using a laptop in most classes (just because it’s common doesn’t mean you should do it) especially smaller ones. Also, some professors prohibit such use in the class, including some larger lectures (like chem for example, I don’t think orgo. profs would be particularly fond either). Either way, check your prof’s. policy and use your own discretion if allowed.</p>
