tech schools vs traditional universities

hey all, I’ve received all my acceptances and have narrowed my choice down to 6 schools:

WPI, RIT, Northeastern, Syracuse, Villanova, UMass Amherst

I’m looking at computer engineering so I’m obviously somewhat geeky, but I don’t consider myself to be on the far end of the geek spectrum.

can anyone speak to the social life at these schools, particularly wpi and rit as contrasted with more traditional universities mentioned above.

for example would being in a predominantly engineering environment become too homogeneous? or is it better to be in an environment with like minded individuals rather than have that diversity?
