Technology and the Audition Process

Hi folks -

I do not have a kid going thru the audition process, but I have a question, and think you’ll have answers.

Has anyone experienced auditions (for colleges, summer theatre programs, summer stock, etc) where the panel has ipads or other devices and record notes directly into a database? Either with notes or rating system?

Thank you!

Yes. My D auditioned at Emerson, and they all had laptops and entered things directly onto the computer. They explained to the kids that they weren’t being rude and playing games…they were entering data into the rubric regarding how they were doing at the audition.

At JMU we have a student assistant inputting information from the audition form into a spreadsheet. Faculty go into the spread sheet later and add in the evaluation information and notes.

good info - thanks for responding

looking forward to hearing about other instances where info is being posted electronically -
